CAMPAIGN UPDATE: PETITION AGAINST ISLAMIST EXTREMISM GAINS OVER 35,436 SIGNATURES!
This petition, organised by Britain First in response to the horrific terror attack on London Bridge on 29 November, has gained an astonishing 35,436 signatures at the time of writing and has been submitted as a matter of urgency to the Home Secretary, the Rt. Hon. Priti Patel MP.
Our petition calls for urgent measures to be taken to combat Islamist extremism in this country, and a serious clampdown on known extremists and terror sympathisers before any more innocent lives are needlessly lost due to Government apathy and inaction.
The link to the petition may be found here, and the text of the submission to the Home Secretary may be found below:
For the attention of the Home Secretary, the Rt Hon Priti Patel MP:
Dear Ms Patel,
Over the past couple of days, following the horrific terror attack at London Bridge, Britain First has been gathering signatures for a petition demanding that urgent measures are taken to eradicate Islamist extremism in this country.
At the time of writing we have 35,436 signatures, and as Campaigns Officer I have been asked to forward the petition to you for your consideration.
The link to the petition can be found here - https://www.britainfirst.org/time-to-eradicate-islamist-extremism-after-london-bridge-attack
I hope that you will be able to give this petition your most serious consideration, as it is now obvious to everyone that the softly-softly approach that up to now has been taken by the police, the courts and the prison and probation services - in fact the entire criminal justice system from the top down - is not working.
The Government has a duty to safeguard our citizens and to provide the security that is necessary for those citizens to live in our democratic society without fear.
It is not for us at Britain First to tell you how you should do your job, or to spell out the entire range of measures that should be taken if Islamist extremism is to be effectively eradicated.
However, at the very least, may we suggest that the 23,000+ jihadists - who are known to our intelligence and security services, and who are currently free and walking our streets - should be dealt with in a manner that completely removes the substantial threat that they pose to the general public.
Please feel free to contact me by email should you have any questions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely, etc.,
As soon as we have a response from the Home Office then I will issue another Campaign Update.
In the meantime I would like to thank the 35,436 people who signed the petition over the past couple of days. It is only through your dedication, commitment and perseverance in such numbers that real change can be eventually brought about.
