Islamist atrocity of the week: 51 children injured in Taliban attack

Yesterday, 1st July, Taliban terrorists detonated a powerful car bomb at the Afghan Defence Ministry in Kabul.

The bomb and a subsequent ground assault killed at least six people and injured more than 100, half of them schoolchildren.

Five local schools were damaged in the attack.

Onno van Manen, Save the Children's Afghanistan director, said: 'Afghanistan is one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a child.'
