The 'Bracknell Islamic Cultural Society' is a registered charity whose stated aim is 'to establish the first purpose-built mosque in Bracknell Forest as an Islamic centre of excellence', and they have now submitted plans for such a mosque to Bracknell Forest Council.

Although some local residents have raised objections on the grounds of traffic congestion and car parking, it should never be forgotten that a mosque is first and foremost a stepping stone to rapid Islamic expansion in the formerly peaceful surrounding area.

Indeed, one objector is quoted in the 'Berkshire Live' online news outlet as saying 'having a mosque will mean trouble for the whole Bracknell community' and one only has to look at similar Islamic developments in our country to see how true that is.

We therefore demand that Bracknell Forest Council refuse planning permission for any such 'purpose-built mosque' or 'Islamic centre of excellence' to the Bracknell Islamic Cultural Society.

<p>FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE BRACKNELL FOREST COUNCIL PLANNING COMMITTEE:</p> <p>To whom it may concern,</p> <p>It has been reported that the Bracknell Islamic Cultural Society has submitted a planning application for a new mosque in Bracknell Forest.</p> <p>It has further been reported that there have been numerous objections from local residents on the grounds of traffic congestion and car parking facilities.</p> <p>However, the planning committee may not be aware that the imposition of a mosque in any given area is a stepping stone to rapid Islamic expansion with all the concomitant and well-documented social and community cohesion problems that such expansion brings.</p> <p>'Berkshire Live' supplies a quote - from an objector - that 'having a mosque will mean trouble for the whole Bracknell community' and one only has to look at similar Islamic developments in other parts of the country to see how true that is.</p> <p>Given that both supporters and objectors from outside the local area have seen fit to submit their comments, I therefore feel that it is perfectly reasonable to demand that you refuse this planning application from the Bracknell Islamic Cultural Society on the basis that it will - inevitably - lead to the social and community cohesion problems alluded to above.</p> <p>I look forward to hearing from you at the earliest opportunity.</p><p id="sign_off" class="mceNonEditable">
