PETITION: Ban the burka! Ban this oppressive medieval practice!

Goal: 100,000 Signatures

ADDRESSED TO: JUSTICE SECRETARY SHABANA MAHMOOD

Today, in the House of Commons, a Reform MP, Sarah Pochin, questioned Keir Starmer about banning the oppressive Islamic burka.

Keir Starmer ignored the question, but the question has caused a storm in politics and in the media.

The British people overwhelmingly want the burka/niqab banned on security grounds.

The burka/niqab is a backward practice that oppresses women.

We have launched a petition that we intend to deliver to Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood, demanding that there is an urgent public referendum on this issue.

If I’m not allowed to wear a crash helmet or any other form of face covering into a bank etc, why can Muslims be allowed to wear a Burkha???

This practice is not acceptable, not knowing who people are is a security risk.

We live in a country that treats women as equal and should stay that way. Burqas and Islam are taking the country back hundreds of years

I find the Islamic dress oppressive and intimidating. It is a security risk and does not promote integration, it promotes segregation.
