Jackie Shanks, the Brexit-hating head teacher at Mountjoy School in Dorset, has embarked on a scaremongering campaign to frighten parents and children about the consequences of a 'no-deal Brexit'.

Apparently, the potential implications of a 'no-deal Brexit' include food and fuel shortages, which she is bravely addressing by telling her staff to reduce their carbon footprint!

This is traitorous scaremongering at its very worst, and needs to be called out for what it is.

<p>For the attention of Jackie Shanks, Head Teacher, Mountjoy School, Dorset.</p> <p>Dear Ms. Shanks,</p> <p>It has been reported that on 25 September you circulated a letter to all parents / carers involved with your school to highlight your concerns over a possible 'no-deal' Brexit.</p> <p>Whilst you have taken prudent steps to reduce your carbon footprint, and have stated your intention to stock up on fuel and canned food to prepare for this apocalyptic scenario, you have chosen to highlight other social evils when there is scant evidence that Brexit will exacerbate them to any significant extent.</p> <p>Predicting 'medical shortages' and an increase in 'safeguarding referrals' is one thing, but presenting social evils such as 'Modern Slavery', 'Domestic Abuse', 'Hate Crimes', 'Extremist Activity' and 'Civil Unrest' as a likely consequence of a no-deal Brexit is highly irresponsible and traitorous scaremongering at its very worst.</p> <p>I therefore call upon you to issue a letter of apology to all concerned and to resign your position as Head Teacher of Mountjoy School forthwith.</p> <p>I look forward to hearing from you at the earliest opportunity.</p><p id="sign_off" class="mceNonEditable">
