Halal slaughter - the killing of animals for food without pre-stunning - is hideously cruel and barbaric, and Britain First have campaigned for it to be outlawed in the UK, as it is in Denmark, Iceland, Slovenia and Sweden.

Many of our public institutions - including schools - contribute to the problem by continuing to serve halal food in order to appease Muslim sensitivities.

However, halal food is rarely labelled as such and most adults and children are not even aware that they are eating it.

If we are serious about banning halal slaughter in this country, then we must also be serious about disrupting the supply of halal food to our public institutions.

We therefore demand a total ban on halal food in our schools.
