Our homeless veterans have it tough at the best of times - in a struggle for survival on our streets, often beset with poor health and PTSD after a lifetime of service in our Armed Forces.
Now they face an even bigger threat to their survival with the coronavirus pandemic making them a prime target for infection, possible incapacitation and a premature death.
There are thousands of unused properties standing empty in our towns and cities that could be requisitioned by the Government for the use of homeless veterans and allow them to self-isolate in safety, which would be in the interest of us all in the long term.
We, the undersigned, demand that the Government give priority to our homeless veterans during this time of national crisis:
