Sweden: Muslim migrant who raped 13-year-old girl escapes deportation

21-year-old man from Afghanistan sentenced to just two years and two months in prison

Tuesday 30 July - A 21-year-old migrant from Afghanistan who needs an interpreter in Persian has now been sentenced to two years and two months in prison after he raped a 13-year-old girl at Björkestaskolan in Nykvarn in May.

However, the man will not be deported. The judgement states that 'special grounds are lacking'.

'It should be borne in mind that he was only 16 when he came to Sweden'

It was on May 19 this year that a 13-year-old girl was raped at Björkestaskolan in Nykvarn.

The 21-year-old Afghan, who has not been named, first talked to the girl, who was confused and thought it best to talk back, for fear of what would otherwise happen.

But in a dark place, he grabbed the girl’s shoulders, pushed her down to the ground, and raped her.

Now the Afghan has been sentenced to two years and two months in prison for rape against children.

According to the court, the man must have had an 'indifferent attitude' to the girl’s low age.

He must also pay SEK 115,000 in damages to the girl.

However, even though he has also been convicted of unlawful persecution of another defendant, he has escaped deportation.

'It should be borne in mind that he was only 16 when he came to Sweden,' the judgment states.

Author's comment: 'It should be borne in mind that he was only 16 when he came to Sweden' - what does that have to do with anything? Rape of a minor should always be considered as a very serious offence, and twenty-six months is a slap on the wrist in any case.

As I have said before, there is a good case for introducing a new law - 'Criminal while Muslim' - which would attract a sentence multiplier of (say) five times for offences of this nature.

This would result in a prison term in this instance of nearly 11 years, which would be far more appropriate.
